Kalk Bay Harbour Wall
LOCATION: Kalk Bay, the harbour wall.
|ACCESS: This dive site is best reached by jumping off the harbour wall, some 2 - 4 metres high, depending on the tide. The exit is by means of a steel ladder in the wall. It is not easy with full dive gear so it is best done in 2 trips, with one buddy in the water while the ferries the gear up. An easier alternative is to enter of exit off the shelving rocks to the south of the harbour.|
|CONDITIONS: This site can only be dived in very calm conditions, usually in mid-winter. It is absolutely essential to carry a knife as there is a lot of discarded fishing line, in which you could become entangled.|

|Although the seabed is littered with old tyres, fishing line and bits of net, it is an interesting dive. Most locals dive this site to recover lead sinkers.|
